- Fellow Leadership Team of the Jospong Group,

- Distinguished Guests,
- Members of the Media,
- Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good evening.
I heartily welcome you to this great ceremony as we mark an achievement that is not only for Wi-flix and the Jospong Group but also for Ghana, its amazing content developers and the great people who enjoy truly authentic entertainment content.
I fully believe there’s no better way to celebrate our content developers here in Ghana and Africa other than by supporting them, helping to monetize their content and breathing life into their beautiful ideas that have given us movies like Single Married and Complicated, Tides That Bind, Perfect Picture, Kalybos In China, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Ghana Must Go, If Tomorrow Never Comes and many more.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The business strategy of the Jospong ICT Subgroup is to explore a combination of world-class collaboration with leading technology companies for joint execution of projects and recruitment of creative and brilliant people.
It was therefore a great privilege and honour to have overseen the conceptualization of a great partnership that has led us to where we are today, the outdooring of Africa’s fastest growing entertainment streaming platform, Wi-flix in Ghana.
Wi-flix is a fully indigenous company that was cofounded by great and amaing young minds in the person of Bright Yeboah and Louis Manu.
As a Group, we are fully aware that the content production and distribution industry is going through phenomenal shifts and trends. Traditional TV has evolved, and research shows that the number of people who are watching it from their hand-held devices is increasing while those that don’t watch conventional TV has shrunk even more.
In addition, the onset of streaming platforms coupled with improved internet access has made it easy, fast, seamless and convenient to access content at the touch of a button rather than waiting to get home to switch on your TV.
This technology, industry consolidation and a renewed focus on African content is immense and as Jopsong Group, we are delighted that Wi-flix is not only firmly rooted in this evolution, but it has also sought to collaborate with like-minded organisations.
Two days ago, Wi-flix signed a Partnership Agreement with Ignite Media Group and technology firm Nerasol to enable its subscribers to seamlessly enjoy exclusive content anywhere, anytime.
The three organisations will collaborate in ensuring that Wi-flix subscribers access great content that they can pay for seamlessly in a bid to democratize content delivery in Ghana and across the continent.
That means that the great content developed in our country and other African nations will now have far reaching access and that is something to be applauded.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Ghanaians have brilliant ideas. I believe that as a people, we have some of the greatest and most creative minds of any country in Africa. Our movies are some of the most entertaining and we should be proud to show them to the world.
That is what Wi-flix is here to do and we hope that its outdooring today will increase the diversity and volume of exciting African entertainment content that is available to its subscribers.
It is also worthy to note that the Jospong Group is fully behind Wi-flix and its journey to democratize content delivery and it will lend all the support and investments needed to grow in this space because as it grows, our content developers will also grow and the industry at large.
Our success as a Group is driven by our talented workforce, our people. Like I stated, we always take pride in impacting and touching people’s live and because we see the great creative talent that is in every corner of our country when it comes to content development, we shall work with Wi-flix to support and spur you all to greatness.
In conclusion,
Achieving this vision requires that each of us is involved, engaged and aligned to this shared sense of purpose and I invite all of you to play your part as we change Africa’s content distribution story one film at a time.
To quote one of the co-founders of Wi-flix, when the great history of Wi-flix is being written 20, 30 or 50 years from now, may you all who are here today have a testimony that indeed, Jospong and Wi-flix is a true testament of companies that believed in the African dream.
Welcome once again to this event and enjoy the rest of the evening as you get to experience the true magic of Wi-flix.
Thank you!
